What nutrition support for weight gain involves
Gaining weight is its own problem, and it rarely responds to being told to eat more. Appetite, portion size and how fast you feel full all sit in the way.
This page sets out what Priyanka looks at when weight will not rise, and how a plan gets adjusted. It also says where nutrition stops and medicine begins.
What people usually arrive with
Being told to eat more is not useful advice to someone who has already tried it. Here is what usually turns out to be happening instead:
- Fullness that arrives early: a few bites into a meal and the appetite is gone
- Weight that holds steady: eating more on paper with nothing on the scale
- Meals that get skipped: no hunger signal at the times the day allows eating
- Gain that went the wrong way: the number rose and none of it was muscle
- Digestion in the way: bloating or heaviness that makes the next meal harder
Volume is usually the obstacle rather than willingness. A plan that adds bulk to the plate tends to make the fullness worse.
It also helps to understand what calories in versus calories out does and does not explain before judging your own progress.
What Priyanka looks at first
Nothing gets written until she has taken a history. That covers:
- What you eat now, and how much of it you finish
- Meal timing set against your work hours and your sleep
- Appetite through the day, and when hunger actually shows up
- Digestion, bloating, and how long food sits with you
- Blood work, medication and any diagnosis your doctor has recorded
- Training load, because activity raises what you need
The plan works on energy density rather than plate size. That means foods with more energy in less volume. It also means more eating occasions, and drinks that count towards intake. Protein is set high enough that the gain has a chance of being muscle rather than fat alone.
How the plan gets built and adjusted
Priyanka does not write diet charts. She provides nutrition support that is reviewed and adjusted as your body responds.
With weight gain the first version is a test of tolerance. Push intake too hard and appetite shuts down, which costs more than it gains.
So the plan starts where your appetite currently is and moves from there. You report back on hunger, fullness, digestion and weight, and the next version reflects it. Between reviews you can message her on WhatsApp instead of waiting for the next one.
What nutrition support can and cannot do
Priyanka is a qualified nutritionist. She is not a doctor, and she does not diagnose, treat or prescribe.
Nutrition support can change what you eat, how often you eat, and how much each meal contains. It does not replace anything your doctor has prescribed.
Weight that falls without explanation needs a doctor before it needs a nutritionist. The same holds for appetite that disappeared, pain after eating, or a change in bowel habit that has lasted. Priyanka says so and points you to one.
How long people stay on support
Some concerns may require a longer period of personalised nutrition support.
One month gives you structure, a plan built around your routine, and a first round of adjustment. Three months is the length many people settle into, because it leaves room for several rounds of review. Six and twelve month engagements suit people who want the reviewing to continue.
Priyanka recommends a length after the Discovery Call, not before it.
What it costs
Every engagement starts with a Discovery Call at ₹499, which comes off a three, six or twelve month package. The packages page sets out all four levels and how the fee works.
Food that fits a weight gain plan
The plans are built around everyday Indian cooking. Priyanka has published ten of the meals she uses most, with method and nutrition figures for each.
The recipe library shows the kind of food a plan is made of. For gaining, the same dishes get built up rather than trimmed down.
Start with a Discovery Call
The call is a consultation, not a sales pitch. You talk through your history and what has not worked. You leave with a view on what is holding your appetite down. It also tells you what the right next step looks like.
